Today is International Day for the Eradication of Poverty. Each year on October 17th, the United Nations focuses its efforts on the issue of extreme poverty and encourages others to take action to help in the fight to eradicate poverty. 1.2 billion people live in extreme poverty – that’s 1 in 5 people on the planet – living on less than a $1 a day.

Breast Cancer Month

As you all know, October is Breast Cancer awareness month.
This was sent to me by a dear doula friend of mine. The film "My Mommy has Cancer" is about a dear friend of hers who is a doula. Through the eyes of her child you learn about her cancer. Please watch (and vote if you feel compelled to do so) - keep watching even after the credits - there is a neat claymation film.

Breast cancer is affecting all of us - I know you are all aware. I am so thankful that this was forwarded to me. Do what you can and please take a moment today to think and pray for all of these women and their families.
